继2017年陆续举办了区块链、人工智能、大数据、微服务及SOA、移动开发等一系列高新技术讲座后，CITANA于2018年1月21日举办了新年首场云计算线上讲座。来自美国、加拿大、及中国的近40位专业人士参加了交流。
与会者大部分都在IT行业拥有较深的资历和不同的背景，其中有大数据专家、人工智能及语音识别专家、企业家、大公司架构师、数据科学家、高级项目经理、应用设计及开发人员等。也有一些年轻的大学生参加了交流。
讲座介绍分享了微软云应用领域的发展前景和最新动向，大家积极参与讨论，收获颇丰。
交流会由CITANA Montreal 副秘书长林梅女士主持，由微软MVP 关宇先生主讲。在与会者各自介绍了自己的背景和兴趣后，余磊会长首先对云计算的重要性及主要趋势作了一个简短介绍。他说，云计算就是通过Internet（”云”）交付服务器、存储空间、数据库、网络、软件和分析等计算服务。提供这些计算服务的公司称为云提供商，他们通常是根据用户使用情况对云计算服务进行收费。现在IBM、Oracle、Google、Amazon、Microsoft、BAT等巨头都在推出各自的云计算平台与服务。云计算是对企业 IT 资源的传统管理思路的一项重大变革，是大势所趋。云计算已经成为IT专业人士的必修课。因此，协会于新年伊始首先推出云计算讲座，并且请微软最具价值专家关宇先生就微软云与会员们进行交流与学习。
然后，关宇先生也做了自我介绍。他是C#和.Net专家，曾在微软工程院工作多年，担任架构师，现经营一家科技驱动型北美地产管理公司，时任公司CTO。获得微软CEO Satya Nadella 亲自颁发的微软最具价值专家奖 （Microsoft Most Valuable Professional）。
关宇演讲的题目是《微软云介绍》。云计算是一个比较新的概念并已经成为一个行业热点。它主要的目的是促进在社会及商业运行模式中的云存储，从而减少社会及商业运行成本。讲座详细介绍了 IaaS、PaaS、SaaS各种服务的区别和使用。并用Pizza as a Service 举例 生动分析了云服务和传统服务的区别。
关宇先生还详细地介绍了Azure提供的服务： Virtual Machines、Web Apps、Cloud services、Application services、Data management、Application insights、Mobile apps、Notification apps、and Messaging and integration。
最后，关宇先生还针对会员的提问进行了详细解答。大家对本次交流给予了非常高的评价，纷纷表示受益匪浅，希望协会能继续举办相关的系列讲座。
